About Sue

Hi, I'm Sue from vitaminhealthcheck.com

I have been taking vitamins, minerals and other health supplements for over 30 years. Even before that, when I was a child, I remember taking multivitamin tablets in the shape of characters from the Flintstones.

Back then, they were undoubtedly loaded with colors and sugar but they tasted like candy so I was happy to take them!

Sue & A Health Journey

My real interest in nutrition began when I was 16 and read a magazine article about iron deficiency. I recognized the symptoms in myself and realized the lack of iron-rich foods in my diet.

A pharmacist recommended a suitable supplement and, after a couple of weeks, I started to feel better. I was amazed at how something so simple and easy could make such a difference.

I began studying diet and nutrition and gradually developed a health program for myself and my family. Over time, our regime has been tweaked and updated as new research emerged.

In fact, since I first started writing about nutrition in the 1980's, there have been a lot of changes. Back then, fiber was in and fat was out and health experts would have thought you were crazy if you recommended a low-carb, high-protein, moderate-fat diet.

Today, though, even mainstream medicine is advocating this way of eating to stem the rise in obesity and prevent serious conditions such as Type 2 diabetes.

But some health basics have stood the test of time. Most of the vitamins, minerals and other supplements we take are the same ones that helped me all those years ago.

Vitamins Anyone?

Throughout my health journey, I have tried to encourage others to look at diet and nutrition for answers. As a result, my family have been taking supplements for almost as long as I have.

Sue's parents

My parents, now in their 70s, both have part-time jobs, walk every day and are regularly thought by others to be younger than they actually are.

Even the feline members of our family have their own health regimen. Daily, they take their vitamin and mineral powder together with fish oil and probiotics.

I want nothing but the best health for the people (and pets!) in my life and I have no doubt that you feel the same about your family and friends. As you learn more about healthy nutrition and experience the benefits for yourself, you will be able to help those around you achieve their best health also.

Vitamins Inside & Out

The right vitamins and minerals and nutritional supplements can help a wide range of health problems from back pain to menstrual problems to digestive disturbances.

But essential nutrients are not only beneficial for the body, they also affect the mind and emotions. Also, of course, how you feel physically affects your thoughts and your mood.

And the benefits of supplements are not limited to their use internally. I'm a big fan of using vitamins, minerals and other nutrients externally on the skin.

Vitamins A and E, beta carotene and fatty acids are just some of the additions you can make to your skin care routine that offer nourishment, protection and healing from the outside.

Starting Your Own Health Journey

I am convinced that taking vitamins and minerals along with other health supplements has kept me out of the doctor's office and off prescription medicine.

And you, too, can take control of your health. Let this website guide you through the maze of supplements on offer and start building your own health regimen.

Good luck and the best of health,

Sue
